Position: Event Coordinator 

Time Commitment: Flexible schedule with the ability to work remotely as needed

Location: 1292 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto, ON M6E 1C1  

Position Summary:

The goal of the Event Coordinator is to provide an exceptional event experience to all after BREAST CANCER’s event participants through flawless execution.  The Event Coordinator will manage the event critical path, coordinate all planning, arrange vendors and permits needed, and manage other event logistic requirements for all events in the region. You love planning many projects at once, are highly detail-oriented and thrive working in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Negotiate and secure event space, administer and track budgets, event costs and monthly expenditures
  • Schedule vendors and participants, manage invitee lists ensuring information is accurately logged for lead follow up, manage ongoing communications, coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met
  • Coordinate, administer and track all event logistics including registration and attendee tracking, presentation materials and pre and post event evaluations

Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution; degree or diploma in Business Administration, Public Relations or Event Management preferred.
  • Exceptional proficiency with MS Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines, completing projects on time with professionalism.
  • Ability to perform to a high level independently as well as with a team.
  • Works well in a fast-paced time sensitive environment.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills.

Start Date:  Immediately

Term:  Interns MUST work minimum 20 hours a week or more 

Remuneration:   Transportation costs to and from (public transit or parking)

  • To provide resources that contribute to a woman’s Quality of Life (QOL) after breast cancer.
  • To provide women with limited financial resources and NO insurance with mastectomy bras, mastectomy camisoles, and breast prostheses at no cost to them after breast removal surgery (mastectomy or lumpectomy).
  • To identify underserved areas in breast cancer survivorship that lack resources and provide evidence-based information that can facilitate informed decision-making on issues related to breast cancer survivorship.
